What is Heart Barrier Free Project?

I think Japan has made great strides in barrier-free access. However, if you use a wheelchair, there are still many places you cannot go to, places you cannot enter, and stores that will refuse you entry. Although it is impossible to structurally make all stores barrier-free, I would like to spread the word about "barrier-free hearts" to the world in order to create an environment where people with and without disabilities can go wherever they want.

Even if there are one or two steps,
with a little bit of hospitality from the people around,
I think it can become a wonderful shop or place that goes beyond being barrier-free.

The Kokoro Barrier-Free Support Store Sticker is the symbol of stores and places that welcome customers with a Kokoro barrier-free attitude. Stores that have this mark have staff who serve customers with all their heart, ask "Is there anything I can help you with?" and offer to help as much as they can.

Support Plan

We aim to create a society where it is easy for people in wheelchairs, pregnant women (with strollers), and the elderly to get out and about!

I feel anxious about going anywhere

  • → Can you enter the store? (width / steps / stairs, etc.)
  • → Anxiety about using the toilet

To alleviate that anxiety...

Search for the store's barrier-free information in advance!

→Search the website for stores participating in Heart Barrier Free Project.

  • List of supporting stores
  • Support store search function (by genre/address)
  • Support store review entry function
  • "My recommended store!"
  • Information on supporting stores, such as photos, entrance width, steps, and toilet width

Places with stickers are safe!

Safe for both users and staff

→Depending on your request, we will visit your store or business and give a lecture on how to make your store or location "mentally barrier-free."

How to become a franchisee?

Any store or place that provides heartfelt customer service even if there are steps or stairs can participate.

  1. Apply to become a "Kokoro Barrier-Free Support Store" and place a sticker in a conspicuous place, such as the entrance of your store.
  2. Fill out the necessary information in the advance check items (entrance width, toilet width, steps, information on nearby universal toilets, etc.) and prepare for inquiries from customers. The user's guide contains information on how to serve customers and how to operate a wheelchair.
  3. We will post information from the user's guide on a portal site and ask our customers to share the information with us, so that we can provide them with the best possible service.
